EFCE Medals and Distinctions
EFCE grants the following prestigious Medals and distinctions:

Dieter Behrens Medal
OPEN FOR NOMINATIONS
The Dieter Behrens Medal is presented in principle every four years in recognition of a significant contribution on behalf of the EFCE in raising the profile of chemical engineering in Europe or in relation to the organisation, management or development of EFCE’s activity base.
The next edition is planned to be presented at ECCE15&ECAB8 in September 2025 in Lisbon, Portugal. The call for nominations for the Dieter Behrens Medal 2025 is open for nominations by EFCE Member Societies, Executive Board members or Working Party/Section Chairs.

Jacques Villermaux Medal
The Jacques Villermaux Medal is presented every four years to recognise “scientific achievements within the context of the Federation’s science policy, working parties, conference programme or other related activities.”
The next Medal will be presented in 2027.

Lifetime Achievement Award
OPEN FOR NOMINATIONS
The EFCE Lifetime Achievement Award (LAA) is given to an individual in recognition of her/his sustained and outstanding contribution to the progress of Chemical Engineering in general and on specific topics covered by the EFCE Working Parties (WPs) and Sections in particular, over a period of at least 20 years.
The next edition is planned to be presented at ECCE15&ECAB8 in September 2025 in Lisbon, Portugal. The call for nominations for the Lifetime Achievement Award 2025 is open for nominations by EFCE Member Societies or Working Party/Section Chairs.

Danckwerts Lecture
OPEN FOR NOMINATIONS
The P. V. Danckwerts Memorial Lecture was established in 1985 to honor Prof. Peter V. Danckwerts as a leading scholar in the field of chemical engineering and for his contributions as an Executive Editor of Chemical Engineering Science, the second Shell Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Cambridge, and a past president of the Institution of Chemical Engineers.
The 2025 Danckwerts Lecture will be a highlight of ECCE&ECAB 2025, to be held in Lisbon, Portugal, in September 2025.
